XtraSorb Classic Non-Adhesive Dressing Overview

Are moist wound healing dressings designed for heavily exudating wounds. Utilizing a Super-Absorbent Polymer (SAP) Fiber Core, Xtrasorb dressings actually lock fluid into the dressing by converting it to a gel. Once in gel form, fluid is prevented from leaking through, or out, of the dressing. Even under compression, the dressing will retain fluid, making them a good solution for the treatment of leg ulcers. An additional benefit of binding fluid into the dressing is that by pulling fluid away from the wound surface, the user is less likely to experience maceration of the wound. The dressing is bordered with a flat edge that contours to the surface of healthy skin to aid with application.

Highly Absorbent for Longer Wear Time

The high-absorbency nature of the dressing also allows for longer wear time. XtraSorb Non-Adhesive Dressings can remain in place for up to seven days when well applied and under appropriate wound conditions. Fewer dressing changes helps to decrease disruptions to the wound bed. The fluid-proof strikethrough pad that backs the dressing also clearly reveals the amount of fluid absorbed, giving the user or caregiver a convenient at-a-glance indicator that the dressing is ready to be changed.
