The Breg VPULSE Machine Cold Therapy System provides post-operative surgery sites or injuries with a combination of cold therapy and compression. Consistent use minimizes the overall risk of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) after major surgery when compared to pharmaceutical prophylaxis. VTE is one of the most common preventable causes of hospital death, as well as one of the most common reasons for hospital readmission following major orthopedic surgery. Cold therapy and compression may enhance patient compliance when compared to pharmaceutical prophylaxis alone. The unit has three therapeutic modes that may be selected using the unit's easy and intuitive controls.
