Shieldu Face Shield Overview

The Shieldu Face Shield with Headband by Cardinal Health offers the wearer full facial splash protection. The Shieldu is also designed to sit far enough away from the face that it won't impede other personal protection equipment like N95 face masks and additional protective eyewear. The Shieldu can be donned and doffed without touching the face, further limiting the possibility of infection.

The shield is one-size-fits-all and is sold as a complete package with a vinyl headband and forehead strap and clear polyethylene shield, which is easily cleaned. The Shieldu requires some simple assembly and we have included an instructional video below.

Helps Prevent Both Injury and Infection

The face offers multiple pathways to contracting infection and facial contact with contaminated fluids can be particularly hazardous. The Shieldu offers full face protection from direct fluid splash from above the eyes to below the chin and the wrap-around design protects the sides of the face as well. Separate pieces of PPE can leave gaps of unprotected skin and the Shieldu is an excellent primary or secondary means of facial protection. In addition to protecting the face from potentially infectious materials, the Shieldu also deflects debris and solid material from causing injury.

Instructions for Assembly

• 1. Extend headband tabs.
• 2. Connect the shield to the headband.
• 3. Slide in the forehead strap and tighten.
• 4. Finish assembling the head strap.

Recommendations for Cleaning

It is recommended that each user first follow the recommendations of their hospital, clinic, or facility. Appropriate cleaning options include soap and water and 70% isopropanol wipes. Avoid cleaning with hydrogen peroxide vapor sterilization, autoclave, or soaking in isopropanol or other organic solids.
