Securi-T Hydrocolloid Skin Barriers and Conformable Seals are protective seals created to protect skin near the stoma and help seal the ostomy skin barrier. These barriers and seals are a solution to the uneven stomal healing and scars that can sometimes prevent skin barriers from sealing properly. In creating a more efficient seal, they also prevent leaks and prevent moisture-related skin breakdown and irritation. All Securi-T skin barriers and conformable seals prevent outside moisture from entering.
The Securi-T Hydrocolloid Barriers are great options for those with sensitive skin. This is because these hydrocolloid barriers are made with a gel-like substance that interacts with water to stick to the body. This gentle, self-adherent formula is easy to remove without harming the skin. In addition, hydrocolloid dressings keep the wound bed moist to help skin that is already damaged heal faster as long as the skin is not infected. Hydrocolloid skin barriers are also a great option for users with tape or paste allergies. Securi-T makes two forms of the hydrocolloid skin barriers, a pre-cut strip for ease of use and a 4 x 4-inch cut-to-size version for those who would prefer a customizable option.
A second option are the Securi-T Conformable Seals. These seals are circular and come in two and four-inch diameters. These seals stretch to fit many sizes and shapes of stomas.
