Molnlycke Z Flex Heel Boot

The Molnlycke Z-Flex Heel Boot combines fluidized positioner with a single low-pressure air chamber to prevent pressure injury. The positioner molds around the heel for support and protection, while the air chamber uses Positive Air Displacement to redistribute pressure and minimize impact.

Heel pressure injuries can debilitate patients and greatly reduce quality of life. Without prevention, this can lead to osteomyelitis and even amputation. High-risk individuals include those with diabetes mellitus, immobility, and vascular disease. Molnlycke's Z-Flex boots use unique technology to provide a simple solution. Patients should also be equipped with elbow protector pads to guard against hard surfaces.

How to Use and Clean

• Remove the Z-Flex boot from the bag and open all straps.
• Place foot and lower leg in the boot with the heel centered over the heel opening.
• Secure elastic shin straps, beginning with either the bottom or the top straps, and work your way up or down. Do not overtighten.
• Attach both sides of the ankle support straps. Make sure the foot gate is closed over the bottom of the foot. Do not cross the ankle support straps.
• Make sure the foot is in an anatomically neutral position.
• To access the foot, detach the ankle support straps and open the gate. To reapply, close the gate over the foot and reattach the ankle straps.
• When necessary, clean the boot using hospital approved disinfectant wipes.
