Mölnlycke Mepilex Self-Adherent Foam Dressing is a highly absorbent foam dressing for acute and chronic wound care. It is designed specifically for wounds with low to medium discharge. This dressing comes in a variety of sizes between 4 x 4 inches and 8 x 8 inches and can be modified for a perfect fit. It easily molds itself to the wearer for maximum protection and absorption. Mepilex Dressing’s Safetac Technology prevents maceration and leaks with the added benefits of safe and painless removal. Mölnlycke states that this Mepilex Foam Dressing can be used for wounds under compression and is ideal for leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, and diabetic foot ulcers.
What is Safetac Technology?
Mölnlycke was the first foam dressing manufacturer to use a contact layer made out of silicone to solve the problem of painful wound dressing removal. This silicone layer simultaneously seals the wound and prevents the bandage from adhering to the wound as it heals. This means Mepilex Self-Adhering Foam Dressing can be removed without re-opening the wound or damaging skin for faster healing.
