Description
The Covidien Shiley Cuffed Fenestrated Tracheostomy Tubes with Disposable Inner Cannula is a respiratory device to help patients breathe after tracheostomies. It has a low profile cuff to reduce visibility and increase comfort for the user. The reduced bulk combined with a rounded and smooth obturator makes it easy to insert as well as remove. Once inserted, the tracheostomy tube increases breathing ability by allowing air to pass upward through the vocal cords towards the mouth and nose.
The Shiley Cuffed Tracheostomy Tubes come individually packaged after being sterilized to reduce the risk of infection and possible contamination by outside bacteria. It is also made without natural rubber latex, making it safe for those who may have latex allergies.
The inner cannula of the tracheostomy tube is disposable and not meant for any kind of washing for multiple uses in order to reduce infections. It is easy to change thanks to the snap-lock connector that snaps it in place for a secure connection and makes for easy removal.
