Description
The Flowtron Excel DVT Pump by Huntleigh, mimics the leg's natural ambulatory pump action to move blood around in the deep veins of the leg, reducing the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). DVT can develop as a result of certain medical conditions that affect how the blood clots. It can also occur in patients who are confined to their bed for an extended period of time such as after surgery. The Flowtron Excel leg compression pump is lightweight and specially designed for bedside use. It provides calf, thigh or foot compression to reduce the effects of stasis and stimulate fibrinolysis to break down clots and prevent new clots from forming. The compression system consists of a DVT therapy pump, and DVT garment sleeves that are available to order separately. It also includes audible and visual alarm indicators to ensure the pump is consistently delivering the correct amount of pressure. Longer length (5ft) compression tubing, battery packs, and battery chargers are also available to purchase at Flowtron DVT Accessories.

Indications: The Flowtron Excel is suitable for DVT prophylaxis in acute care settings, in the pre, intra, and post-surgery phases as monotherapy or in combination with a pharmacological agent.
Contraindications
This product should not be used for patients with any of the following conditions:- Severe Arteriosclerosis or Other Ischemic Vascular Diseases
- Known or Suspected Acute Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) or Phlebitis
- Severe Congestive Cardiac Failure (CCF) or any Condition Where an Increase of Fluid to the Heart May be Detrimental
- Pulmonary Embolism (PE)
- Acute Skin Conditions Such as Gangrene, Untreated Infected Leg Wounds, Recent Skin Grafts, or Dermatitis
