Description

Cure Medical’s Pediatric Catheters are designed for the comfort and safety of children who rely on catheterization for bladder emptying. These uncoated straight-tip catheters are made from high-quality materials and never use harmful chemicals or latex. A special ultrasonic process creates extremely smooth, polished eyelets that make insertion and use as painless as possible for the child.

Parents, caregivers, and medical professionals can feel good about choosing Cure catheters. Cure Medical Pediatric Intermittent Catheters are the only catheters of their kind approved by the FDA specifically for use in pediatric patients. Additionally, Cure Medical donates 10% of its income to research for spinal cord injuries and central nervous system disorders.

Preparing Catheters for Use

Cure Pediatric Intermittent Catheters are uncoated and do not come pre-lubricated. Parents and caregivers can choose the right lubricant and insertion materials to suit the child’s needs. For maximum convenience, the Cure Medical Catheter Insertion Kit contains everything needed for hassle-free catheterization prep. Each sterile kit includes a nonstaining Benzalkonium Chloride (BZK) wipe for cleaning, one lubricant packet, gloves, an underpad, and either a disposal bag or a 1500 ml collection bag.

How Often Should Children Be Catheterized?

Intermittent catheterization is typically done every four hours, starting in the morning and ending at bedtime. However, the child’s healthcare provider will provide individualized guidance based on the child’s needs, including the frequency of catheterization and the catheter size that should be used.

Children will need to maintain their recommended catheterization schedule while at school. The school nurse should be able to offer assistance. Certain children may even be able to learn self-catheterization with practice and adult guidance.

More Cure Medical Pediatric Catheterization Care

In addition to their classic, uncoated catheters, Cure Medical offers hydrophilic catheters for pediatric use, which are made with a coating that becomes lubricated when briefly soaked in water. Cure Hydrophilic Catheters come with an included pouch of purified water for convenient preparation.

Cure Catheters also come in six-inch lengths especially for female catheter use, with French sizes ranging from eight to 18 to ensure the right fit.
