Carefusion Airlife Sterile Water for Inhalation Overview
To replenish drained nebulizers, flush feeding sets, and transparent secretions for tracheostomy treatment, Vyaire Medical AirLife Sterile Water for Inhilation is available in a range of containers and sizes. It is important to use clean water to avoid contamination from bacteria that may cause infection.
To ensure sterility, the compact Airlife Sterile Water bag holds 2000 mL (Carefusion 2d0737) in a closed device. To flush or disinfect the feeding set, or to provide extra hydration, the bag is connected to the feeding set. For inhalation respiratory therapy, a bag of distilled water may be used to refill the nebulizer. Sterile water may also be used to refresh humidifiers and other refilling chambers.
The graduations along the vial allow the AirLife Modudose unit dose of sterile water to be dispensed by the drop or as a tube, making it easier for tracheal suction systems to remove mucus in the tracheostomy. The Inhalation Solutions Sterile Water comes in 500 (Carefusion CN0005) or 1000 mL (Carefusion CN0010) prefilled bottles are intended to refill a nebulizer for inhalation.
