In the medical field dressing is used to protect the wound, reduce the pain, repairing tissues, promote moist wound healing, and immobilize an injured body part. A wound dressing is additionally used to prevent further harm. A dressing is unique from bandage because it is designed to be directly contact with the wound. The bandage is primarily used to hold a dressing in place. The major use of dressing is to apply compression for venous stasis or hemorrhage.
