Wound Prep & Debridement
Injury can happen anywhere and anytime but it becomes unfortunate if injury happens and we are not prepared enough to handle the situation correctly. Many a times it so transpires that lack of proper knowledge leads to calamities and such happens when a person tends to an injured individual causing any severed wound to get infected by the surroundings and stretch the ordeal of the victim. Although the act is not committed purposefully but lack precaution and absentees of proper knowledge are the reasons behind these predicaments. A person can effectively reduce such incidents if proper care is taken when handling cuts and bruises or when delivering first aid.
Now in case of an accident it is always and more generally a wise thing to cater to bleeding rather than cleaning of the wound but what most fail to realize that in order to stop the bleeding individuals used infectious material on the open wound. This particular act, if not always, gets infectious bacteria into the open wound and the patient follows pain and fever in the days to come. What one can do here is to always apply pressure to the wound with a clean cloth that has not encountered the ground or any dirt for that matter. The most basic mistakes that people do when catering to injured is that they use the torn cloth from the victim only to stop the bleeding and hence carry over the infection on the wound.
Wound cleaners are also very handy when it comes to cleaning and tending to an individual necessary of first aid to bleeding. If you, being the person performing the necessary tasks, happen to successfully stop the bleeding by a clean cloth then use wound cleaners and wound debridement to ensure that the injury does not carry infection. Wound cleaners offer debridement with their antimicrobial ingredients and kills all on site bacteria that causes infection. It is chemically known as Polysorbate-20 and is in spray form usually. If the wound cleaner is in gelatin form then always apply via some the applicant provided with the product and never use a third party applicator.
To apply successfully always make sure that dirt particles are removed before applying the wound debridement and make haste when you have applied the wound cleaner. Apply the medical gauze as soon as possible because since wound cleaner is mostly in spray form, the chances of evaporating is grave so quickly take the gauze pads and cover the wound.
Precaution must always be taken that since the wound cleaner is an antiseptic spray, keep away from eyes or other sensitive exposed area. Also make sure that if gelatin form is used then the ointment does not get swallowed by the patient if bruise or cut is close to mouth.
